Does ASSIST make automated decisions about individuals?

No. Wyser ASSIST is not a decision-making system. It is an administrative support tool designed to save staff time by creating transcripts and summaries from recorded conversations.

ASSIST does not determine an individual's eligibility, entitlement, enforcement status or other rights. It does not make decisions about individuals or take action on their behalf.

The transcript and summary are provided to the customer so that staff can review and, where necessary, edit the information before creating their case notes or official records. The customer remains responsible for deciding what information is included in the final record and for any decisions or actions taken based on that record.
